Illustrious Brother Etherlbert Forrester Allen (Dec 31, 1854-Aug 26, 1913) Born in Hartford County, Connecticut, in 1855. He was educated at Hopkins Grammar Schools and Hartford High graduating in 1875 then attended Business College in Poughkeepsie, New York. He first came to Kansas City in 1876, where he remained a year then became engaged for three years in the cattle raising business in Nebraska, Wyoming and Montana. He returned to Kansas City and was engaged in the real estate business with Mr. C. W. Whitehead until 1886 and by himself until 1894 when the Allen-Bollen Investment Company was formed. In 1897 he organized the Allen Investment company and remained the president and treasurer for that company throughout his business career. He served a term as president of the Kansas City Real Estate Exchange. In 1900 he was the Republican nominee for Lieutenant-Governor of Missouri making a respectable run against Democratic opponent John Adams Lee, losing only 352,505 to 314,352. It was reported that the Republicans were hopelessly in the minority but Brother Allen's personal popularity considerably narrowed the margin of the vote. Lee later resigned the post in the midst of a scandal in 1903.

Brother Allen authored a book "From Missouri to the Isle of Mull - Impressions of a Little Journey By Three Missourians" in 1909. He passed away while visiting his native Connecticut and was returned to Independence, Missouri for burial.
